Our services
Initial psychiatric evaluation
A comprehensive first visit that shapes your entire treatment plan.
Every new patient begins with a full psychiatric evaluation conducted by video. Your provider reviews your history, current concerns, and goals, then determines the right next step whether that's a treatment plan with your Afya provider or a referral elsewhere.

- Intake paperwork and insurance information are due at least 24 hours before your appointment.
- The evaluation itself does not guarantee a follow-up visit or a prescription.
Ongoing medication management
Regular virtual visits to monitor and adjust your treatment.
For patients who continue care with Afya, follow-up visits track how your treatment is working and make adjustments as needed. Prescription refill requests are typically processed within two business days.

ADHD and stimulant management
Structured, safety-conscious care for stimulant medications.
We manage stimulant treatment for ADHD, including medications such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, Concerta, Focalin, Evekeo, and Desoxyn. Because these are controlled substances, treatment follows a structured monitoring process.
What this Includes:
- Psychological testing may be required before a stimulant is prescribed.
- Monthly visits are required to continue any controlled substance prescription.
- Urine drug screens may be requested at your provider's discretion, and must be completed within 24–48 hours when requested.
Short-term anxiety and benzodiazepine care
Careful, time-limited management not a long-term solution.
For patients who need it, we manage short-term benzodiazepine treatment (medications such as Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, and Restoril). These medications are prescribed only for short-term use, with the same monthly-visit and no-early-refill safeguards that apply to all controlled substances.
Secure telehealth visits
HIPAA-compliant video care, wherever you are.
All appointments are conducted over secure, HIPAA-compliant video. Some medications or treatment plans may still require periodic in-person visits, which your provider will discuss with you directly.
Documentation and records support
Letters, records, and disability documentation, handled properly.
Need paperwork completed on your behalf? We handle documentation requests, including support letters and records release.
Standard paperwork: up to 10 business days SSDI documentation: 6 completed sessions minimum
Court and legal requests
For subpoenas or court testimony, fees apply for preparation, record review, travel, and testimony time, payable in full at least five days before the court date.
